I am an experienced Executive Producer, Writer, and Editor working across digital media, with expertise in podcasting, video production, social media, and audience engagement. I have successfully managed content publication, social media strategy, and live event production for major progressive media projects. My work spans content management, impact strategy, and product development, with a focus on making complex ideas accessible to broad audiences.

Planet B Productions

Co-Founder, Co-Director and Head of Strategy (February 2022-Present)

In 2022, I co-founded Planet B Productions, an independent media production company based in London, alongside six freelance colleagues with expertise in technical production, content creation, and communications. Planet B specialises in producing industry-standard audio, visual, and graphic design content to amplify progressive movements for social justice. Our work focuses on storytelling that brings radical ideas, critical histories, and original narratives to new audiences.

As Co-Director and Head of Strategy, I oversee the company’s short-, medium-, and long-term strategy, ensuring our projects align with both financial sustainability and our core values. My role includes securing commissions, managing client and partner relationships, and guiding the company’s operational development.

As an Executive Producer, I lead the management and delivery of key digital products, ensuring high production standards and audience engagement. Below is a curated selection of projects I have overseen.

Macrodose

Founder, Executive Producer & Editor (October 2022 – Present)

  • Launched and managed a successful weekly podcast on macroeconomics, surpassing 600,000 plays.
  • Edited weekly episodes for over two years, including the spin-off series Election Economics & The Curve.
  • Developed and executed digital content strategies across social media platforms, growing an engaged audience.
  • Launched and developed a Macrodose Patreon (over 800 monthly subscribers), and The Fix – Macrodose’s monthly newsletter (over 1200 subscribers).
  • Developed relationships with funders and secured grants to expand the show.
  • Organised and produced several live events, including Macrodose LIVE: The Future of Global Capitalism at Union Chapel (900 attendees).

The Verso Podcast

Executive Producer (April 2023 – August 2024)

  • Led on the product rebrand and relaunch of The Verso Podcast in 2023.
  • Developed digital assets and social media campaigns to maximise audience reach.
  • Managed all aspects of production from conception to distribution and promotion, including editorial strategy and guest bookings for two seasons.
  • Wrote copy for the Verso blog and newsletters.
  • Organised and produced live events, including Verso LIVE: The Future of Politics at Union Chapel (900 attendees).

Novara Media: Planet B – Everything Must Change

Executive Producer & Lead Writer (August – December 2021)

  • Developed, pitched, and produced a six-episode documentary podcast series on a Global Green New Deal, featuring interviews with policymakers, academics, and activists to drive critical climate justice debates in the lead-up to COP26.
  • Developed and executed the show’s communications and social media strategy, securing over 180,000 downloads.

OpenDemocracy

Impact Editor (August 2022 – August 2023)

As Impact Editor for openDemocracy’s economics section, OurEconomy, I developed and implemented strategies to enhance audience engagement, maximise outreach, and increase the impact of openDemocracy’s content. I also led the development of an audio-visual strategy for OurEconomy, aligning with funding requirements from Partners for a New Economy. Below are some select openDemocracy products I produced.

Boomerang: Empire and Britain’s Economy

Executive Producer & Lead Writer (November 2022)

  • Wrote and produced this documentary examining Britain’s economic legacy of empire.
  • Managed scriptwriting, interviews, post-production, and editorial direction.
  • Organised and managed the premier screening at ArtHouse Cinema London to a sold-out audience.

This is a Care Crisis

Producer & Lead Writer (July 2023)

  • Created a social media video series exposing the UK’s care crisis.
  • Led scripting, production, and promotion.
  • Organised the impact push for this series, including launching with a live event in Parliament supported by a cross-party group of MPs.

OurVoices

Producer (2020-2022)

  • Created and launched ourVoices, a podcast for ourEconomy at openDemocracy, featuring in-depth documentary-style episodes and interviews with leading global thinkers.
  • Scripted, produced, and managed the communications strategy for every episode throughout 2020.
  • Developed and curated audio/visual content, social media copy, and promotional materials to enhance audience engagement.
  • Promoted ourEconomy’s content across political and media networks, expanding its reach and impact.

Progressive Economy Forum

Communications Officer (January 2022 – January 2023)

As Communications officer at PEF, I organised the design and launch of major economic reports, securing endorsements from UK MPs and widespread media coverage in The Guardian, The Big Issue, openDemocracy, Tribune, and LabourList. I developed new web and social media content, expanding PEF’s audience reach, and managed the production and promotion of high-quality audio/visual content. In 2022 I organised the UK’s largest ever progressive economics conference, drawing 500 attendees to the University of Greenwich for discussions on the cost of living crisis, the future of work, climate disaster responses, the political economy of Russia’s war in Ukraine and much more.

Progressive Economics 2022

  • Led the full organisation of Progressive Economics 2022, the UK’s largest progressive economics conference, managing logistics, programming, and overall event coordination to ensure a seamless experience for speakers and attendees.
  • Designed and executed a comprehensive digital marketing strategy, including targeted social media campaigns, email outreach, and press engagement, successfully selling out 500 tickets.
  • Curated and managed a diverse lineup of 50 expert speakers, coordinating schedules, panel topics, and logistics while overseeing speaker briefings and pre-event preparation.
  • Ran real-time social media coverage before, during, and after the conference, maximising engagement through live updates, speaker highlights, and post-event content to extend the event’s impact.
  • Oversaw the post-production of all recorded sessions, ensuring high-quality editing and distribution to widen the event’s reach beyond in-person attendees.

Freelance Work & Teaching

Academic Teaching (2022 – Present)

My academic interests span a broad and interdisciplinary range of fields, including media theory, social theory, political economy, and anthropology. My work engages with theoretical frameworks drawn from Feminist Marxism, Racial Capitalism, and Post-Capitalism, with a current research focus on media, technology, and design. I have significant academic teaching experience:

  • 2025: Module convenor, Design in the Digital Economy (MA), University of West London.
  • 2022-Present: Guest lecturer, Bodies, Identities, Futures, University of West London.
  • 2022–2023: Seminar leader, Digital Politics, King’s College London.

Writer (2018 – Present)

Before starting my PhD in 2021, I gained experience as a freelance writer, publishing opinion, investigative, and analytical pieces on a variety of socio-economic and political issues. In 2020, I focused on the US election, contributing series for both openDemocracyand Novara Media. In 2021, I investigated Amazon warehouse work for Jacobin Magazine and wrote the six-part audio documentary series Planet B: Everything Must Change for Novara Media. Since 2022, I’ve primarily concentrated on writing scripts for audiovisual projects and engaging in academic work.
