Media

I have worked as an Executive Producer, Producer, Director, Writer & Editor across a range of media formats, from radio production to film, social media and podcasting. I have experience across pre-production, production and post-production, with particular skills in product development, impact and audience engagement. Below are some of my recent products.

Macrodose

Date: October 2022 – Present
Role: Executive Producer & Editor
Description: I founded Macrodose in October 2022, leading its conceptual development and overseeing its launch across all podcast platforms and Patreon. I continue to manage and edit the weekly show, including its new spin-off, The Curve.

Macrodose translates complex macroeconomic concepts into accessible insights, making economics relevant to everyday life. Our weekly news show delivers concise analyses of pressing issues at the intersection of the climate crisis and the economy—covering topics from the rising price of olive oil to the critical role of quartz in smartphones. We turn complex stories into popular discussion, ensuring economics is both engaging and relatable.

With over 600,000 plays, Macrodose has built a diverse audience, spanning high-profile politicians, policy experts, journalists, and general listeners. According to our survey, 94.4% of listeners report that Macrodose has deepened their understanding of economics.

Boomerang

Date: November 2022
Role: Executive Producer & Lead Writer
Description: BOOMERANG is a documentary from openDemocracy in which academic and author Kojo Koram visits Liverpool to examine how decisions made decades ago continue to shape Britain today. The film explores how confronting the legacies of empire can help build an economy that works for all. It premiered at the Art House London with a sell-out audience.

I wrote and produced BOOMERANG, overseeing its development from conception to distribution. My role included scriptwriting, booking interviews, managing the technical team in post-production, and leading all editorial decisions.

The Verso Podcast

Date: April 2023 – August 2024
Role: Executive Producer
Description: The Verso Podcast is a fortnightly series from Verso Books, bringing together radical thinkers from around the world to debate key political and socio-economic issues.

I led the Planet B team in relaunching the podcast in 2023, overseeing the production of two seasons. My role included managing all aspects of production, from coordinating guest appearances – including Robin D.G. Kelley, Ruth Wilson Gilmore, and Nancy Fraser – to ensuring the show’s successful revival.

This is a Care Crisis

Date: July 2023
Role: Producer & Lead Writer
Description: The UK is facing a deepening care crisis. From childcare to social care, and from unpaid caregivers to underpaid carers working long hours, the country lacks the infrastructure needed to ensure dignity and autonomy for all. This social media video series sheds light on this often-overlooked issue and was launched with a sell-out event in the committee rooms of the Houses of Parliament.

I wrote the scripts and led the production of these videos, drawing on insights from my PhD research into the systemic neglect of the UK’s care infrastructure.

Global Justice Now

Date: July 2024
Role: Producer & Writer
Description: With the general election behind us and a new government in place, now is the time to act. The UK must commit to a global exit plan from fossil fuels. The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty offers exactly that—a bold, coordinated strategy to phase out coal, oil, and gas swiftly and fairly.

I wrote and produced this video for Global Justice Now, highlighting their campaign to end fossil fuel production and push for urgent climate action.

Novara Media

Date: August – December 2021
Role: Executive Producer & Lead Writer
Description: From August to December 2021, I created Planet B: Everything Must Change – a podcast series for Novara Media and The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. Through interviews with climate activists, academics, and policymakers worldwide, the series explored the key pillars of a globally just Green New Deal. These conversations formed the basis of six hour-long documentary episodes, which I scripted and produced, covering Work, Land, Infrastructure, Water, Migration, and Debt.

I led the communications strategy, coordinating with graphic designers, producing audio/visual content, writing copy, and managing a social media campaign. Released around COP26, Planet B aimed to challenge and expand the progressive discourse on climate justice. The series received over 180,000 unique downloads.

Jacobin

Date: July 2021
Role: Executive Producer & Lead Writer
Description: Throughout 2021 I worked on an investigation into Amazon warehouse organising for Jacobin. Alongside my long-read feature in Jacobin magazine, I co-produced (and was interviewed on) an episode of Jacobin’s Primer podcast series. This series utilises multiple audio formats to shed light on the realities of the Amazon business model. Working in collaboration with an anonymous Amazon worker in the US, I acquired audio from inside a Sortation Centre, and overlaid it with an “as live” interview I conducted with a worker. Mixed in with a conversation I had with Jacobin staff writer and podcast host Alex Press, this episode takes the listener on a tour inside an Amazon warehouse in the US. I also used images collected by my Amazon source to put together this video montage for the Jacobin YouTube page. I edited by audio and images for this feature.

openDemocracy

Date: 2019 – 2020
Role: Producer
Description: In late 2019 I created the ourVoices podcast for ourEconomy – the economics section at openDemocracy. Through a combination of in-depth documentary-style episodes and extended interviews, ourVoices brought together some of the most exciting thinkers from around the world, and featured those putting new economic ideas into practice from the ground up. Over 2020, I scripted, produced and ran the communications strategy for every ourVoices episode. This included the curation of audio/visual content and copy for social media, and promoting ourEconomy’s content across my political and media networks.
